Our projects
Currently we have active project development in Northern Savo as well as in Northern, Central and South Ostrobothnia regions. We publish more information as the projects move forward.
Northern Savo project
The Northern Savo hybrid production project consists of a central biogas and liquefaction plant in Kiuruvesi and 3 satellite plants in Lapinlahti, Nurmes and Sonkajärvi. The central plant handles up to 460 000 tons of feedstock yearly, most of which is manure.
The end products are liquefied biogas (LBG) and a fertilizer that can be used in agriculture. In total, over 100 farms will participate in the activity.
Currently the project is in permitting, detail design and procurement phase. We expect the plant to be operational by 2026.
The Northern Savo project has been granted with a 19,2-million-euro NextGenerationEU investment grant by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland.

Nurmo project
The production plant project of Nurmon Bioenergia Oy, owned by Suomen Lantakaasu, is implemented together with Atria Finland Ltd. Once completed, the plant will process approximately 240 000 tonnes of raw material annually, of which manure fractions and industrial side streams form the main part. The plant’s production capacity will be 100 GWh/year.
The end products include liquefied biogas (LBG) for heavy-duty vehicles and biofertilizer for agriculture.
The project is currently in the investment phase, and construction of the plant has begun. The Nurmo biogas plant is scheduled to be completed on the same schedule as Suomen Lantakaasu Oy’s Kiuruvesi biogas plant and commissioned during 2026. The project has a valid environmental permit.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has granted 9,4 million euros in energy investment aid for the Nurmo project.
